We specialize in new tool and mold building, precision tooling, and repair/revision work, with a reputation for handling large, complex parts and delivering exceptional craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities, Strategic & Business Leadership *Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and long‑term profitability. *Develop and execute strategic and operational plans aligned with ownership objectives. *Establish long‑term facility and operational strategies to ensure sustained success. *Serve as a hands on leader capable of stepping into technical or operational challenges. *Support business development and customer engagement initiatives. *Strengthen customer confidence through consistent communication and delivery. Journeyman Toolmaker Responsibilities: Build, repair, and maintain injection molds, including multi‑cavity and hot‑runner systems. Perform complex tool repairs, including welding, spotting, fitting, and component replacement. Design and modify tooling using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Mastercam, or AutoCAD. Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T to produce precision components. Program CNC machines and support EDM, grinding, milling, and turning operations. Troubleshoot tooling issues and collaborate with engineering on design improvements. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and ITAR requirements. Train and mentor junior machinists and toolmakers. Operational Excellence & Execution Oversee day‑to‑day operations including production, engineering, tool design, machining, and quality. Ensure 100% on‑time delivery through effective planning and scheduling. Provide technical leadership to resolve complex manufacturing and quality issues. Drive continuous improvement to enhance throughput and reduce waste. Promote a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. Interpret work orders, engineering plans, and GD&T specifications to plan machining processes. Financial Performance & Accountability Own full P&L responsibility, delivering profitability targets and growth. Manage pricing strategy, production costs, labor efficiency, and spending. Review financial statements, sales reports, and operational data to identify improvements. Lead cost‑reduction, inventory optimization, and efficiency initiatives. Customer & Market Leadership Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Understand customer technical requirements and long‑term programs. Partner with customers on engineering solutions and tooling strategies. Support sales efforts to expand market share. Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop teams across: Engineering Toolmakers Tool Designers Operations & Production Project Management Administrative Staff Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Oversee hiring, training, performance management, and succession planning. Establish clear communication structures and expectations. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). Required: Experience in Tool & Die Making, Tool Design, and Injection Mold Tooling. 7–15+ years of leadership or senior‑level experience in manufacturing preferred. Proven success improving profitability, operational performance, and team effectiveness. Strong understanding of machining processes, blueprints, and GD&T. Experience with ERP systems. Bonus: Knowledge of ITAR Registration Knowledge of ISO Certifications Leadership Characteristics Hands‑on, self‑motivated, and willing to step in directly when needed. Forward‑thinking with a continuous improvement mindset. Results‑oriented with strong accountability. Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Decisive and analytical problem solver. Able to balance strategic vision with day‑to‑day execution.
